Maria is a Boulder area professional Belly Dancer. She is one of the main dancers at the House of Marrakesh in LODO Denver and the former  Mataam Fez in Boulder. Maria currently teaches bellydance in Boulder and Flatirons Athletic Club in Broomfield.  She was also Director of World Dance at former dance studio "Dance West". As Event Manager for Boulder Creek Events, she coordinates and schedules high profile Boulder Events such as the "Boulder Community Dance Stage" at the Boulder Creek Festival.  Maria completely turned the stage around into one of the favorite entertainment stages at the Boulder Creek Festival, which is rated the number one Event in Boulder County by Boulder Daily Camera readers.  Maria has been seen bellydancing at numerous events, weddings, parties, etc. in and around Boulder County, and in movies and TV shows.   Maria performs an ancient zar/trance dance from the Middle East. Maria is also a continuing artists with many other dance organizations in and around Boulder County.

 Maria directs and choreographs a professional dance company, “Amar Goddess BellyDance Company” which strives to bring the best in bellydance entertainment and education to the public. 

 Maria owns and operates a successful business, "Boulder BellyGrams by Maria", which provides bellydance entertainment and other ethnic entertainment for corporate events, schools, birthday parties, celebrations and shows. She is the webmistress and developer of her own award winning website at www.boulderbellygrams.com

Maria has co-founded a troupe with storyteller/musician Bobby Avstreih, called "Ziva Dunya" ("bright world"). They have developed a program entitled "Tales & Rhythms from the Middle East" which we have brought to schools, multicultural festivals, senior centers, etc., to great acclaim. The program can be adapted to a particular area of study, country of interest, poetry, literature, etc.

 Maria also works with Broomfield Heights Middle School since 2000, as a  choreographer for the after school Dance Club Program.  She has taught children’s classes in the past. 

Maria has also been invited as a guest speaker/performer for the "Art Café" a new and forum which premiered at the Colorado Art Expo 2003. See www.artcafe.tv for more info.

Maria also is invited as guest dancer/teacher at women’s retreats, women’s events, and other cultural events in and around the country.

 Maria is known for her beautiful and expressive performances.  She works regularly with professional musicians Marc Cornelius and James Messerich.  Their combined performances are well-received and loved by many.
